Football (soccer) can best be utilized to teach skills, improve coordination and agility and increase an athlete's general level of fitness. The sports skills needed to participate in a game of football are kicking and ball handling.
The joy of Football (soccer) is that it is a game of continuous action and simplicity. It is played by two teams of eleven players. Ten team members move up and down the field advancing the ball towards the opponent's goal and attempting to gain possession when the opponents are in control of the ball. The object is to put the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team that scores more goals wins. The game may be modified by changing the field size, ball size and weight, number of players, size of goal area and game time.
Football's international appeal has made it the world's most popular game. The game provides a fine balance between individual skills and teamwork. The young, the old and the handicaopped player can discover the thrill of taking part in the world's most exciting game.
